Pizza

To put it bluntly, I love pizza. In high school, I liked delivery/carryout; in college and shortly after, I liked frozen pizza; and since then I have taken to making my own. Sure, like everyone I enjoy a delivery once in a while, but Frozen pizza hasn't been made in my house for a few years now.

Until recently, we used a bread maker to prepare our dough. 90 minutes and it's ready to go. This is a really good way to start, but now we've started making the dough in our KitchenAid 600 Pro (in Empire Red,  of course).  But more about that later.

For the Pizza section of the Kalville Free Press, I expect to talk about homemade pizza - the dough and sauce recipes we use, and share some pictures and some links to other resources, and then perhaps review some pizza joints around Kalville.

A couple of great links to start: PizzaMaking.com and the Slice blog.

Awesome. A whole new side of you. I worked in a coupel restaurants making pizzas in high school and summers in college. And, of course, still pull out the pizza stone every once in a while. Love to hear your sauce tips, I have some of my own to share. After all, besides a nice crispy crust, the most important part of pizza is the sauce.
